Medical Engineering Conference 2015 (MEC2015)

This activity was held on 22-23 August 2015 at the Mutiara Hotel, Johor Bahru. This activity is the flagship activity of the Association. This activity aims to provide exposure to engineers in the field of research and development of the latest technology.

The activity was attended by 130 participants consisting of electronic and biomedical engineers from the Ministry of Health Malaysia, medical equipment supplier companies and researchers throughout Malaysia and internationally. The international participants involved in this activity were one participant from Indonesia and two participants from Japan. 

The medical equipment supplier company involved in the latest technology exposure is I-Medic Imaging Company, Toshiba Medical Systems Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., SIEMENS Healthcare Sdn. Bhd., Philips Malaysia Company, Shimadzu Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., GE Healthcare Company, Infinity Medic Company, and Science Valley Company. These companies have presented their latest technologies as well as brought along their respective technologies to be showcased and provide opportunities for engineers to delve into existing technologies.

A total of 33 presentation papers were presented in this conference. All presentation papers are published in 2 Editions of the Journal of Technology published by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia indexed Scopus. Overall, this activity succeeded in achieving the set objectives. Congratulations and well done to all MEC2015 secretaries.
